    • At the University of Arizona, Shannon Kolder was granted an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, which she proposed to the Dean and created herself, combining coursework in Media Arts, Music, and Communication.

  • Associates, Entrepreneurship
    • She complimented her BFA with a Business Associates degree from Arizona’s McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship in the Eller College of Management, ranked as one of the top six public collegiate entrepreneurship programs in the US by Princeton Review, Entrepreneur Magazine, and Financial Times.

  • Noteworthy Coursework
    • Additionally, Shannon was selected to participate in a three semester long creative writing course offered by the UA Honors College in which she collaboratively wrote, produced, and performed in the play A Perfect Wall, under the direction of Playwright and Professor Patrick Baliani. She also studied Medieval Culture for a summer abroad and traveled to Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Switzerland with Dr. Albrecht Classen.

  • Honors Projects
    • Shannon graduated Magna Cum Laude and with Honors in both degrees, completing two thesis projects. Within a team of four, she developed the business model for “All Abroad,” a service that allows professors to convert traditional classroom courses into study abroad experiential field studies. The second capstone was a blend of written resources and facilitated workshops demonstrating the need for media literacy in leadership development, entitled: All I Really Need to Know (about Leadership) I Learned from TV.
